BYU Museum of Art Lecture: First Vision Symbols in Art

You are invited to join me at the BYU Museum of Art auditorium on Thursday, March 15 at 7:00 pm for a presentation I will give called “White Shirt, Brown Pants: Analyzing Visual Symbols of the First Vision” in honor of the Minerva Teichert First Vision painting (seen above) that is currently up at the museum’s exhibit “To Magnify the Lord.”  In my presentation I will go into the history of how the First Vision has been portrayed in LDS art and media, and the traditional symbols used in comparison to the descriptions in the historical accounts of the First Vision.  It is free to the public and all are welcome. Please come and bring a friend and come say hello.
